But if the after-rain episodes are getting more frequent, lasting longer, or starting to show up after moderate rain that never used to matter, the field is losing margin. Something is eating its capacity: a tank overdue for pumping pushing solids into the lines, a broken or settled distribution box loading one trench with everything, groundwater or runoff sneaking into the tank through a bad seal, or a field that's biologically clogging after decades of service.
